The Story So Far

Alex

It all comes down to one boy called Alex, who loves nothing more than to stick his finger up his nose and pick a variety of juicy Bogies...

Now, we all enjoy picking our noses (don't deny it!) ... but Alex is different. When he picks his nose he falls into a daydream, a sort of "Bogified trance" I suppose you could say. When he falls into this slimey dreamland, his overactive imagination takes control of him and when he wakes up he is often somewhere completely different, doing something totally random and often covered in snot!

As you can imagine, this can get him into trouble sometimes but his Bogies can also help him out of some pretty sticky situations. As time goes on, his Bogie filled dreams are becoming more bizarre and his imagination is taking control more often. Who knows which crazy little Bogie is going to take him on an adventure next...

The Creators

Mark and Paul

Creators Mark Greenbaum (right) and Paul Kell (left) met at college in 2000 and quickly became best friends and flatmates. During this time they won a coveted NEPA award and drawn as finalists in the national DMA awards. After graduating they were both employed, Paul in sales and marketing, Mark in graphic design, by Piranha Studios, home of the Bad Taste Bears.

Johnny Snotten

Once they had established themselves within the company work on their own plans for world domination. After many funny, but un-sellable ideas such as "Mugs with Jugs" and "Snakes with Rakes" - Paul hit upon "The Bogies". The idea came to him one afternoon whilst picking his nose and wiping it under his desk. He was quick to tell his talented comrade about the idea and, over the next few evenings, they worked together effortlessly (With the creative help of a few frosty brews) on a huge list of Bogie names.

Once a long enough list was compiled, Mark put pen to paper and created the first ever Bogie, Johnny Snotten. Within a week there were over a dozen, illustrated by Mark whilst Paul drew up a marketing plan to pitch to their boss.

Piranha Studios loved the Bogies idea and, to Paul and Marks' delight, launched the Series One of Bogies keychains in early 2007.

The rest, as they say, is history in the making...
