The Bogies : BattleCards

About... The Game

The BattleCards game consists of two players, each playing a hand of 7 Bogies BattleCards. On each card are 6 categories which describe that Bogie character with a number rating for each. When it's your turn in a round of BattleCards you choose the best number you have on your card, trying to beat the same category rating on your opponent's card. The 6 categories are:

Gobzilla BattleCard

Splattitude (0 - 10)
Brain Goo (0 - 25)
Grossness (0 - 10)
Stickability (0 - 100 %)
Sneeze Speed (0 - 100 MPH)
Flick Force (0 - 10 G)

If you beat the other player's number you win that card. The other player's card is put to the bottom of your hand. Your winning card is also moved to the bottom and you move on to your next card. If the other player wins, you lose your card to the bottom of their pack, they move on to their next card and it becomes their turn to try to beat you.

In the event of a draw, both cards are placed in the middle, and whoever wins the next turn wins their opponent's card plus the two drawn cards from the last round.

This continues until one of the players has all 14 cards. The loser's cards are added to the winner's online collection.

Two Types of Game

There are two types of Bogies BattleCards game; single-player and multi-player. How you begin each game depends which type you choose. All players can play both types of game as long as they have at least 7 cards with which to make a hand.

Send a Challenge

To begin a game your must first challenge your opponent.

For a single-player game, you can challenge the computer by going to the "Battle" menu at the top of the site and choosing "Play Computer". Or if you have no incoming challenges and have not challenged anyone else, your Challenges list which can be found in the "Battle" menu, then "Challenges", gives you the option to "CHALLENGE THE COMPUTER".

To start a multi-player game you need to go to the "Who's Online" option under the "Battle" menu. In here is a list of all the other non-computer players who are currently also on the site. You can challenge any of these other players by hovering over their avatar and choosing the "Challenge [ name ]" option from the drop-down menu that appears under them. Or from your "Challenges" page, choose "CHALLENGE ANOTHER PLAYER" which takes you to "Who's Online" to choose your opponent.

Challenges are displayed in your Challenges page. Once you have challenged the computer and chosen your cards the challenge will be ready to play and you can click "PLAY GAME" to begin. When you challenge another player, you may have to wait a short while for them to accept your challenge. The Challenges page will automatically update every 10 seconds so you can issue your challenge and simply wait for your opponent to accept. When they do, just click "PLAY GAME" to get started.

Playing the Game

The first thing you need to do is re-enter your website password. This is for security purposes - to make sure no one else can sneak into your games and affect your collection. The game will then load in all the images of the cards you and your opponent have chosen, or been dealt. This should not take long, though how long depends on the speed of your internet connection and how busy our servers are. If you feel like you're waiting a long time, try refreshing the page to reload the game and try again.

Once the cards images have loaded the game can begin. Whoever issued the challenge will make the first move and away you go.
